PAIR OF GEORGE III HALF GUINEAS, 1801 AND 1803
Each approx. 4.2 grams, 22 ct. gold
A matched pair of George III half guineas featuring the laureate bust of the king facing right and the crowned shield of arms on the reverse. The 1801 issue marks the first year of coinage following the Act of Union with Ireland, while the 1803 piece is a sought-after early 19th-century example from the Napoleonic era.
Both coins exhibit milled edges and retain good detail to legends and devices. A classic pair from the final decades of the guinea series.
